Tax Preparation

Each year at income tax time eligible clients are able to have their federal and state income tax returns completed as part of the Earn It! Keep It! Save It! program. The program works in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service.

Volunteers are trained to assist families with household incomes below $39,000. This includes helping taxpayers claim the Earned Income Credit which could amount to as much $4,400 per family.

All services are provided at no charge to our clients.

For the 2007 tax year, Coastside Hope prepared almost 300 tax returns. The average income for those served was $20,764.

In the six years that this program has been in place, we have prepared over 1,300 returns and helped individuals claim over $235,000 in refunds.
