Critical Family Needs
As the primary community assistance agency for the San Mateo County mid-coast region, Coastside Hope provides assistance for emergency needs including: food, rental and utility assistance, referrals for healthcare, help with complex forms, and advocacy. The ongoing economic troubles are reflected in the increased need for our services.
In Fiscal Year Ending 2011, instances of food distribution increased by 35% over FYE 2010. Our staff performed over 8,500 critical needs assessments – a 42% increase over the previous fiscal year. Overall in FYE 2011 we provided the following support services while serving more than 3,400 qualifying individuals:
